Long story short: I have decided to permanently close DarlingCake effective October 2024
🙏🏻
Long story long:
Thank you to everyone who has supported my business for the last 16 years but all good things eventually come to an end.
Anyone who’s followed me knows DarlingCake started as a side hustle that began 16 years ago as a means to subsidize being a single mom. Over the last 16 years I have done thousands of birthday, weddings, wholesale contracts and everything in between. I expanded to include Louella’s Space and DarlingCake took off like nothing before. In the last four years alone I took almost 400 wedding cakes and thousands of other orders. I climbed to the top and achieved everything I wanted as a businesswoman and I have nothing but pride, joy and gratitude as I close this chapter.
My goals outside of the kitchen were always to first provide Cam with an abundant life so he could chase his dreams and second to fall in love. Two weeks ago Cameron left to finish his senior year out of state at a hockey academy and I have indeed fallen madly in love with a man I can’t wait to begin life with…and that’s exactly what I plan to do.
I have prayed for all that is occurring right now and life has perfectly aligned to live out these prayers in a new, softer era. With that, it’s been my absolute pleasure and gift to have been a part of so many of your special occasions over the last 16 years, this chapter wouldn’t be what it was without all of you. 💕
I plan to occasionally continue creating and sharing DIY cakes in my new home but on a hobby level (*maybe* a special order here and there) along with other projects, tablescapes and my travels on @amy.gns on Instagram but in terms of restarting the business in Buffalo, I’m officially hanging the apron.
Thank you from my whole heart for the memories, they are priceless.
Xx, Amy
